Hi! My name is Melissa Titus and I’m the founder of fitinny.com. For those who don’t know, Fitinny is a health and wellness blog tailored specifically for women who have PCOS, also known as polycystic ovarian syndrome. These tips are intended for women who struggle with PCOS, but can still be applied by anyone that wants to improve their health and well being. How did Fitinny come to be, you may ask? Allow me to share my story. I have always struggled with my weight. I literally have tried everything—from an array of different workout programs to juicing—and often found myself online looking at resources. The results were not effective as I had hoped and I would conduct more research than I needed to. Part of this may be related to my recent diagnosis with PCOS.
I learned that those with PCOS have a harder time managing their health and wellness and often require different approaches to getting fit and losing weight. One in ten women struggle with PCOS and I wanted to create a site that supports and encourages women with PCOS.
Fitinny is not only my journey, but the journey of over 200,000 women per year and growing. I am trying to serve the greater PCOS community by serving as a role model and someone that understands and loves to help those who are in a similar situation. PCOS has many symptoms, but the majority of doctors cite weight loss in the form of exercise and diet change. This is where Fitinny and I come in. Through my site, you’ll find recipes fitted for PCOS, as well as exercise routines and stories of struggles, as well as successes, so we may educate, empower, and inspire those who suffer with PCOS and those who are interested in living a healthier lifestyle.
