Melissa Tomaziefski is a health and fitness journalist from Pine Hill, New Jersey. Melissa believes loyalty and respect are the core values of a good person. Melissa is very outgoing, driven and personable which are important qualities of an author.
Since I was a teenager, I have written poetry and short stories that have won awards and been published. I received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Phoenix. It took a big push from my mother, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer in 2011. With determination and encouragement from supportive friends the hard work paid off.
“Beginning of January of 2014 the most weight I have been was 225 pounds. Since starting a program with my doctor’s office I was put on a 1,000 calorie a day diet and a menu that consisted of complex carbohydrates, fresh fruit, vegetables and lean meats (venison being my favorite). I do a lot of light working out like walking, yoga and Pilates. I have to say that 2014 was not my fondest but recently since I started this program I went from 225.5 now to a 183. I am still going.” Since recently been diagnosed with PCOS, (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) Melissa still struggles to lose weight especially being insulin resistance. Melissa wants to inform women of what PCOS is and help them along with their journey to lose weight and be healthy.
Melissa is full of ambitions and dreams. Melissa was born to write – it is a lifestyle, not just a hobby. Melissa writes poems, short stories and novels. “I just love to write and I couldn’t stop even if I tried. Writing poems and stories just comes naturally. The beach also calls to me and being in the water. I can’t get enough of the aquatic life whether in a boat or swimming!” Melissa has learned to have an open mind for new opportunities and take risks in, not only her professional life but in her personal life, as well.
